Loyola’s Koppang fulfills dream, commits to Griz
His work as a counselor for children battling cancer has given him perspective; his work as a three-sport athlete at Loyola has taught him competitiveness.
Wednesday morning, David Koppang’s notion that anything is possible through hard work and humility came to fruition when the University of Montana’s in-state recruiter, Andrew Selle, asked him to join the Griz.
The son of former Montana linebacker Christopher Koppang did not hesitate; he gave his verbal commitment to Selle and head coach Bob Stitt that afternoon.
Koppang, who helped lead the Rams to last season’s Class B station championship, was recruited as a safety. He becomes the 10th recruit to verbally commit to the 2018 Griz squad.
