Hauck hired as Montana football head coach

One of the most successful and polarizing coaches in Montana history is returning to lead the Grizzly football team.

Hauck, who currently coordinates special teams at San Diego State, will take over for previous head coach Bob Stitt pending approval from the state Board of Regents.

Formal announcement is expected Friday.

Stitt was let go last week after three seasons with the Griz.
