Two days after there were a number of high-profile matchups, some of the winning teams were rewarded Monday in the STATS FCS Top 25, the national media poll.
Towson (3-0), which beat defending CAA champion Maine on the road, jumped three spots to No. 5 – its highest ranking since finishing second as the 2013 national runner-up. Jacksonville State (2-1) beat last year’s national runner-up, Eastern Washington, and soared seven spots to No. 10.

EUGENE, Oregon — Oregon entered their matchup with Montana fresh off scoring 77 points the previous week in a win over Nevada.
The Ducks, the No. 15 team in the FBS, sports an offensive line with at least three future NFL players and perhaps as many as five. Oregon is led by senior quarterback Justin Herbert, a player in the running to be the No. 1 pick in next spring’s NFL Draft. And the Ducks play at Autzen Stadium, one of the hallowed venues in college football and arguably the most intimidating venue in the Pac 12.

MISSOULA, Montana — The Grizzlies appeared shaken following a gruesome injury suffered by Gavin Crow covering a kickoff.
Once Montana overcame any shock, the host Griz avalanched North Alabama in a game that went from slugfest to blowout in the blink of an eye.
North Alabama quarterback Christian Lopez hit big-play threat Cortez Hall for a 74-yard touchdown on the drive following a lower leg injury suffered by Crow, a talented junior safety from UM, about 10 minutes into Montana’s home opener. Jakobi Byrd hauled in a 64-yard touchdown pass from Lopez with one minute, 48 seconds left in the first half to give UNA a 17-16 lead and deflate the rowdy Griz faithful.

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Big Sky Conference announced its 2019 Preseason All-Conference football team today at the league’s Football Kickoff being held at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane.
UC Davis quarterback Jake Maier, the reigning Big Sky Offensive Most Valuable Player, was picked to repeat in 2019. Maier led the Aggies to their first-ever FCS playoff appearance, first playoff win and a 10-win season in 2018. Maier completed 364 of 557 passes for 3,931 yards and 34 touchdown passes.
