Priority on tackling in practice improves Griz gameplay

In the week leading up to the North Dakota game, Montana defensive coordinator focused heavily on the team’s biggest deficiency thus far: missed tackles.

Two games later, the team now leads the Big Sky in tackles behind line of scrimmage (60) and sits second in sacks (22).

“Tackling is where we have improved the most, especially tackling in space because we commit guys to the box,” Semore said before a practice during last weekend’s bye. “We have been tackling full speed in practice. It’s going to hurt and I know these guys are banged up. But we gotta do it.”
