Montana jumps to No. 17 with win
Montana continues to own the mid-rankings of the FCS Top 25 after beating Sacramento State in its conference opener on Saturday.
After sliding four spots the previous week, the Grizzlies jumped two spots to No. 17 with the 41-34 win.
They remain one of four Big Sky teams to secure a spot in the rankings, led by No. 5 Eastern Washington and No. 6 Weber State, who beat Cal Poly and Northern Colorado, respectively, on Saturday.
UC Davis assumed Montana’s previous No. 19 slot with a win over Idaho.
Undefeated North Dakota State remains the top team in the FCS, with James Madison, South Dakota State, Kennesaw State and Eastern Washington rounding out the top five.
Montana will resume its conference slate this Saturday with a road game at Cal Poly.
